Computing
Computing is the process of using computer technology to complete a given goal-oriented task.
At Eye CE Primary School, our aim for computing education is to provide a curriculum that equips our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and understanding they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Our aim is to foster a love for technology, promoting computational thinking, digital creativity, and online safety. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of background or ability, have access to high-quality computing education that is both engaging and challenging.
In order to achieve our aim, the comprehensive Teach Computing programme that we use to support our curriculum is sequenced to build upon prior knowledge and skills. Our lessons are structured to cover a range of topics including coding, digital literacy, and online safety, in line with the national curriculum. We utilise a variety of resources and tools, including educational software, programmable devices, and online platforms, to enhance the learning experience for all pupils.
By integrating computing into the curriculum, we aim to equip pupils with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the digital world confidently. This preparation allows them to access a wider range of opportunities, both now and in the future, enabling them to live life fully, in alignment with our school’s vision. The subject fosters curiosity and encourages exploration, key components of a fulfilling life.
